The AP State Eligibility Test(APSET) notification has been released on by AU. AP SET 2020 for recruitment as Assistant Professors or Lecturer in various University / Degree Colleges/ Institutions of Higher Education in Andhra Pradesh. SET is mandatory for lectureship in colleges and universities in the state. Those who have qualified in the National Eligibility Test(NET) conducted by UGC need not take it. Both government and private institutions consider the SET score while recruiting faculty.
Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET-2020) for the Year 2020 will be conducted by Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, in accordance with G.O.Ms.No.47 Higher Education (CE) Dept dated: 02-12-2015 for recruitment and promotions of Lectures/Assistant Professors in Degree Colleges as per the University Grant Commission Regulations for the year 2020. RESULTS OF APSET EXAMINATION – 2020
Andhra University, Visakhapatnam has conducted APSET examination of behalf of Government of Andhra Pradesh on 20th October 2020 in 31 subjects approved by UGC New Delhi. The APSET is based on the guidelines provided by UGC. A total of 42663 candidates have appeared for the examination. As per UGC the Procedure and criteria for declaration of result is as follows:
6% of the appeared candidates who appear in all the two papers should be declared qualified for Eligibility for Assistant Professor /Lecturer. These 6% candidates would be distributed among various categories as per the reservation policy of the concerned State Government. As per Govt. of Andhra Pradesh reservation policy, the percentage allocation of reservations are: BC-A (7%), BC-B (10%),BC-C (1%), BC-D (7%), BC-E (4%), SC (15%), ST (6%). The 33.33% for Women category and 3% for PWD candidates are given reservation vertically in each category.
The candidates have to secure at least 40% aggregate marks (all two papers put together) for candidates belonging to General category and at least 35% aggregate marks (all two papers put together) for candidates belonging to reserved categories will be declared qualified for step1stage for Eligibility for Assistant Professor/Lecturer. The calculation of slots for each subject and each category is based on ratio of number of candidates who secure minimum aggregate percentage of marks as prescribed in each subject and category-wise to the total number of candidates of that category over all subjects fulfilling minimum aggregate percentage multiplied by the total number of slots to be awarded to that category. The nearest whole number obtained as per this formula provides the number of slots available in any particular subject category-wise.
By this method if the number of slots obtained is less than one, it is taken as one, i.e. a minimum
of one slot is awarded wherever a fraction less than one is obtained as per the calculation. However for fractions greater than one, the figure is rounded off to the nearest whole number.
The aggregate percentage of all the three papers corresponding to the number of slots derived as per the previous paragraph is taken as the cut off qualifying percentage marks for particular subject category-wise.
The candidates whose Hall Ticket/ Roll Numbers are given below have provisionally been qualified through the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET – 2020) for Assistant Professor/Lectureship held on 1st July, 2020 subject to fulfillment of eligibility conditions. The
results of APSET – 2020 have been finalized as per the guidelines of UGC, New Delhi and these results were scrutinized and approved by the Moderation Committee and Steering Committee of APSET – 2020.

The procedure and criteria for deceleration of results is as follows.
Step-I: Minimum marks to be obtained in APSET for considering a candidate for the eligibility
for Assistant Professor/Lectureship. The candidates are required to obtain following minimum
marks separately in Paper –I, Paper-II and Paper-III as given below:
Step-II: Amongst those candidates who have cleared Step – I, a merit list will be prepared
subject wise and category wise using the aggregate marks of all the three papers secured by such
candidates.
Step-III: Top 15% candidates (for each subject and category, from the merit list mentioned
under step-II, will be declared APSET qualified for eligibility for Assistant Professor/
Lectureship.
The candidates whose Hall Ticket/Roll Numbers are given below have provisionally been
qualified through the Andhra Pradesh State Eligibility Test (APSET – 2020) for Assistant
Professor/Lectureship held on 11th September, 2020 subject to fulfillment of eligibility
conditions. The results of APSET-2020 have been finalized as per the guidelines of UGC, New
Delhi and these results were scrutinized and approved by the Moderation Committee and
Steering Committee of APSET-2020.
