The aspiring candidates have to apply online only through CTET website www.ctet.nic.in. The online application process will start from 24-01-2020. Last Date for submission of online application form is24-02-2020 upto 5.00 P.M. and fee payment is 24-02-2020 upto 3.30 P.M..
CBSE CTET 2020 Notification, Exam Date, Online Applications:
ELIGIBILITY
The following persons are eligible for appearing in the CTET.
Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: Primary Stage
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year
of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in final year
of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the
NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year
of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year
of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*.
OR
“Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)”
“(a) who has acquired the qualification or Bachelor of Education from any NCTE recognized
institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes I to V provided the person so
appointed as a teacher shall mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary
Education recognized by the NCTE, within two year of such appointment as primary teacher”.
Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII: Elementary Stage
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by
whatever name known).
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education
(B.Ed).
OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education
(B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from
time to time in this regard.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year
of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year
of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)*.
OR
Any candidate having qualified B.Ed. Programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to
appear in TET/CTET. Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE
letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses
(recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification
dated 23rd August 2010 is also qualified to appear in the TET/CTET.
Note :
i. Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks in the minimum Educational Qualification for eligibility shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ ST/ OBC/Differently abled.
ii. Diploma/Degree Course in Teacher Education: For the purposes of this Notification, a Diploma/ Degree course in teacher education recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) only shall be considered. However, in case of Diploma in Education (Special Education) and B.ED (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) only shall be considered.
iii. Training to be undergone: A person with D.Ed (Special Education) or qualification shall
undergo, after appointment , an NCTE recognized 6-month Special Programme in Elementary
Education.
iv. The minimum qualifications referred above apply to teachers of Languages, Social Studies/Social Science, Mathematics, Science etc. In respect of teachers for Physical Education, the minimum. qualification norms for Physical Education teachers referred to in NCTE Regulation, dated 3rd November, 2001 (as amended from time to time) shall be applicable. For teachers of Art Education, Craft Education, Home Science, Work Education, etc. the existing eligibility norms prescribed by the State Governments and other school managements shall be applicable till such time the NCTE lays down the minimum qualifications in respect of such teachers.
v. A person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or th the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 29 July 2011 shall be eligible for appearing in the CTET.
vi. The candidate should satisfy his/her eligibility before applying and shall be personally responsible in case he/she is not eligible to apply as per the given eligibility criteria. It is to be noted that if a candidate has been allowed to appear in the Central Teacher Eligibility Test it does not imply that the candidate’s eligibility has been verified. It does not vest any right with the candidate for appointment. The eligibility shall be finally verified, by the concerned recruiting agency / appointing authority.
CTET) 2020 Applicability:
(i) The CTET shall apply to schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan Schools,etc.) and schools under the administrative control of UT’s of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCTof Delhi.
(ii) CTET may also apply to the unaided private schools, who may exercise the option of
considering the CTET.
(iii) Schools owned and managed by the State Government/local bodies and aided schools shall
consider the TET conducted by the State Government. However, a State Government can also
consider the CTET if it decides not to conduct the State TET.
(iv) According to CBSE Affiliation Bye-Laws, prescribing the minimum qualifications for teachers to
teach various subjects in Classes I to VIII in the schools Affiliated to CBSE stands amended to
th that extent and it shall be mandatory that the teachers appointed hereinafter i.e. 6 March 2012
to teach classes I to VIII in the Schools affiliated to the CBSE shall qualify/pass the Central
Teacher Eligibility Test or Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), conducted by the appropriate Central/
State Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE for this purpose.
Central TET Examination Pattern:
The CTET examination will be of objective type Multiple Choice Question (MCQ’s). There will be no negative marking. There will be 2 papers of CTET.
(i) Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
(ii) Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
A person who intends to be a teacher for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

How to Apply for CBSE CTET (Central Teachers Eligibility Test):
1. Candidates can apply for CTET - 2020 ‘ON-LINE’ through CTET website www.ctet.nic.in w.e.f. January 24 – February 24, 2020
The candidate applying for CTET is required:-
i) To go through the Information Bulletin carefully with the entire requirement therein.
ii) To satisfy eligibility to appear in the examination.
iii) To submit On-line application by giving full particulars by accessing the CTET official website www.ctet.nic.in.
iv) To write complete mailing address with Postal Pin Code at the time of applying.
v) Before submission of application form, decide the mode of payment of fee.
vi) To keep the Confirmation Page along with the original copy of E-Challan (In case fee is paid through E-Challan) of Syndicate Bank or Canara Bank for future reference.
vii) If a candidate submits on-line more than one application, his/her candidature shall be liable to be cancelled and the candidate may also be debarred for future examination(s). No communication will be sent in this regard.

CTET Admit Cards:
The candidates may download Admit Card from CTET official website and appear for the examination at the given Centre. In case of any discrepancy noticed in admit card regarding particulars of candidate, photograph and signature or any other information vary from confirmation page, he/she may immediately contact CTET unit for necessary corrections.
In case confirmation page is not generated after depositing the requisite fees, the candidate should approach the Assistant Secretary (Exam.), CTET Unit, CBSE between 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. from 10 days beofre the commencement of CTET Exam along with CTET - 2020 proof of payment of fee i.e. candidate copy of E-Challan, if payment made through E-Challan or copy of bank statement, if payment made through Credit/Debit Card for considering his/her candidature for CTET - 2020 examination.

CBSE CTET 2020 Notification, Exam Date, Online Applications:
In accordance with the provisions of sub-section (1) of Section 23 of the RTE Act, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) vide Notification dated 23rd August, 2010 and 29th JULY, 2011 laid down the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII. It had been inter alia provided that one of the essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools referred to in Clause (n) of section 2 of the RTE Act is that he/she should pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government in accordance with the Guidelines framed by the NCTE.
The rationale for including the TET as a minimum qualification for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher is as under:
- It would bring national standards and benchmark of teacher quality in the recruitment process;
- It would induce teacher education institutions and students from these institutions to further improve their performance standards;
- It would send a positive signal to all stakeholders that the Government lays special emphasis on teacher quality
- The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India has entrusted the responsibility of conducting the Central eacher Eligibility Test (CTET) to the Central Board of Secondary Education Delhi.
- Candidates are advised to refer only authentic Text Books and syllabus suggested by NCTE for preparation in area of education For information on Syllabus, click on Information Bulletin.
- Exam process is open, fair and transparent, qualifying CTET is purely on merit, capability and sincere preparation through authentic Text Books.
